What is madison seminary history?

Madison Seminary is a historical building located in Madison, Ohio, USA. It was first built in 1847 as a religious seminary to educate and train young women to become teachers, missionaries, and ministers. The building has had many uses over the years and has been a school, military hospital, and most notably, a haunted house.

During the Civil War, the building was used as a military hospital and housed wounded soldiers. Afterwards, it returned to its role as a seminary until the early 1900s. It was then turned into a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients and stayed that way until the 1950s.

In the 1990s, it was converted into a haunted house, and over the years, many ghost stories have emerged. It is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in Ohio, with reports of sightings, strange noises, and unexplained events.

In 2001, it was purchased by the Ohio State Preservation Board, and extensive restorations have taken place to preserve the building's unique architecture and history. Today, it is open for tours and hosts events and weddings.
